We collect the personal information needed to understand your business funding enquiry and to arrange lending, we share it only with the people involved in doing that, and you can ask to see or correct it at any time. This policy explains how, under the Privacy Act 2020.
Who we are. This website is operated by Leadsource International Manager Limited (NZBN 9429047325371), trading as Difficult Business Loans ("we", "us"). We are responsible for personal information collected through this website and our lending specialists. Last updated 27 September 2026.
What information we collect
- Contact details: name, phone number, email address.
- Business details: business name, structure, NZBN, industry, trading history, turnover.
- Financial information you provide: debts owed (including to Inland Revenue), property details and existing lending, the amount and purpose of funding sought.
- Identity information, where a lender needs it to proceed with an application.
- Records of our conversations and correspondence with you.
- Technical information when you use the website, such as device type, pages visited and referring site, collected through standard server logs and, if enabled, analytics tools.
How we collect it
Mainly directly from you, through our online enquiry form and phone calls. With your authorisation, we or our lending partners may also collect information from others, such as credit reporters, valuers, your accountant, or public registers like the Companies Register and property titles.
Why we collect it

- To understand your situation and identify suitable lending options.
- To pass your enquiry to lending partners, valuers, and solicitors involved in arranging your loan.
- To meet our legal obligations, including anti-money laundering requirements where they apply.

Starting an enquiry does not involve a credit check. If you proceed to an application, a lender may request your credit information, and you'll be told before that happens.
Who we share it with
We share your information only as needed to arrange your funding or run our business, including with our lending partners, valuers, solicitors, credit reporters (with your authorisation), and service providers who host our website, forms and systems. Some service providers may store information outside New Zealand; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected in a way comparable to the Privacy Act 2020. We don't sell your personal information.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to keep personal information secure against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure, including access controls and secure systems. If a privacy breach occurs that has caused, or is likely to cause, serious harm, we'll notify affected people and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law, and then dispose of it securely.
Your rights
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it's wrong. To make a request, call us on 03 667 4222. We'll respond within 20 working days, as the Privacy Act 2020 requires. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
